It's very annoying for me to get an installer as download instead of simply downloading a .love. :/

Also you've shrugged off a large portion of users here at love2d.org, many lovers use something other than Windows (it could be argued that the cross-platform element of Löve is one of it's greatest features) so an installer .exe may not be the best solution to distributing your game. At least provide a .love for the rest of us :)

I'm not trying to be a jerk here, but this is something that bothers me as well. In this case though, I have the power to do something about it!

In the license agreement, jjmafia marks it as;

Code: Select all

licensed under: BY-NC-SA (free license non com...)
With that I have the right to alter and redistribute this under the same license with credit to jjmafiae.

With that in mind, here is the standalone windows 32/64, os x and the .love for the linux folks.

Original Author: jjmafia from love2d forums
License: CC-BY-NC-SA

Linux - anw_0.love
Win x64 - anw_win-x64[0].zip
Win x86 - anw_win-x86[0].zip
OS X - anw_macosx[0].zip

@jjmafia Thanks! I have a build script for this stuff, and It's nice to know it's weaknesses. I'm going to be patching my code ;)

If you didn't want him ripping and redistributing your source, you probably didn't choose the right license for your needs. He was completely allowed to do that because the license you provided said he could.

And that, sir, is what I call an epic fail.

Have no worries, I have no interest in releasing your stuff for personal gain, just realize by marking it CC-NC-BY-SS, people have the right to do so.

If I were you, and you don't want this to happen, please consider changing your license to something that doesn't allow altercation and redistribution.

What you may be interested in, in that case is http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/.

But I plead to you, if you are going to ask people to demo your software, please distribute the .love as well! The love forums is just about the ONLY environment that actually wants you to do this!

Goddamnit I wanted to give josefnpat a karma for that

This is a great example of why you should license stuff properly.
