Vim is a valid choice. If you do a forum you find a lot of threads discussing editors for all OS's. I personally use Sublime Text 2 (you can work it that in Windows and Linux too) with Love Package so you get native LOVE syntax (viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4054).

I've got a function list for vim lying around, so it can highlight love functions (and possibly syntax autocomplete), and it's not terribly hard to set up a command and/or keymap to run the game.

Sublime looks nice but I don't want to mess with anything proprietary (If I don't have too). ;) I also thought about Emacs but it looked too complicated. Anything that makes Love/Lua easier to work with in Vim I will definitely have an interest in.

Unfortunately we've had loads of spambots lately that post no-content posts to get through approval, so we basically have to resort to denying people who post short or non in-depth posts like "Wonderful information!". That being said, we're all human (except for me), so we all make mistakes. The biggest advantage, of course, being that humans can resort to trying again, where most spambots won't (or not with a sufficiently different post).
