Hello and welcome to the forums! I am rather new here myself.

Ok, so you're looking for resources.
I personally learned by learning how to code for Luaplayers on the PSP. All that knowledge switches over to Love2d pretty easily.
But, that's probably not the most convenient route for most people, so here's some resources:

Headchant tutorials
Kikito tutorials
Sock Munkee (youtube)
I found these after googling around a little bit.

You should also read up on:

The math library
The Lua 5.1 Reference manual

Also check out the examples included in the Wiki documentations.

Hope this helped and good luck on learning Love! It's a great tool!

I'll recommend reading PIL, for Lua learning purposes. The reference manual cannot be read straight-forward...

Yeah i would also suggest reading PIL and just experimenting really.
Start really basic, make a hello world program,
then make it do different things like move around the screen or randomly jump to another place on the screen.
Good luck with however you decide to start learning!
Dull but sincere filler.

I think PIL is kinda hard to understand.

That's not the first time I hear it. To me, that's not true. I learnt Lua that way.
