Thank you guys!

It was here where I discovered my passion for programming about half a year ago. This community is rather small, but smart, warm and helpful even to the clumsiest noobies, so It was very easy for me to dive in and fall in love with programming.

At the time I joined this community I was a very sad person, because I aborted my studies (psychology) and had a very hard time to find my way. Everything went downhill and I spent most of my time doing shitty jobs and sitting at home playing computer games. I wanted to change my destructive behaviour and find something positive and creative to do, so I decided to make my own little games. Then I had gotten a job as a ski-teacher in the mountains (iam swiss :) ), which helped me alot to regain confidence, and whenever I found time, I would write code, read about programming and discussing/reading on these forums.

About a month ago, I talked to a school friend of mine who had started his own web-developer company a few years ago. He told me that it is going really well but he needs more manpower because he doesn't think that they would keep up with all the work for very long. Then he asked me about my little hobby projects and if I enjoy programming, if I would see myself doing this for a job. I was super intimidated then but I said to myself "Fuck it! You love doing this, so why not try?" So I went for a job interview (he didn't even warn me btw. He said "Just check out what we're doing here and mb you'll like it"). First I didn't really know what to say but then I just shut my mind off and started ranting about how fun it is to write code, that I sometimes couldn't sleep until I figured something out and stuff like that. Then he asked me to show some of my code which was super awkward, because I knew it was a mess. I showed them some and explained it a bit, also letting them play around with one of the prototypes I made.

I guess you know how the story ends :). Well now I'am there doing a internship and it's alot of fun. They said they are gonna make me a 'code ninja' and everything progresses really fast. I really love what I do now and I'am super thankful to everyone who was a part of me figuring this all out. I know my story has alot to do with luck as well, but the main part in my opinion was finding my passion because everything after that just evolved from this.

So thank you guys for being awesome! I hope you enjoyed my little story <3

That's good and sweet. Congratulations for the internship. However the story is not over yet. Wait for what happen when you got caught flirting with secretary by your jealous boss. :)
