Isn't that the beauty of LoVE, that we can just release a .love and be done with it? I know it's a pain in the ass for love's authors to package for each system, but we might as well benefit from that.slime wrote:This is why I secretly don't want to support linux at all in any of my games. <_< >_>Boolsheet wrote:Even if it were possible to build a binary that will run on the most used Linux distributions, the users wouldn't like that at all because it goes against the modularity of their systems. Going the correct route involves learning about all the different package managers and offering a package for every distribution (debian based ones may be compatible to each other).Jasoco wrote:Isn't there a Linux download available that gives you a compiled version of Löve to use?
So anyway, Mari0 is out...

The "Linux" distribution is just the .love file and an explanation of how to install LOVE on your chosen distribution.

Yeah, it's a little hard to control both Mario while aiming the gun. I need to get a controller to use with it so I have access to the sticks with my thumbs and still access to all the buttons much easier than a keyboard. I tried reconfiguring and can't get anything working well enough. And I'm the one who loves to play DOOM on my MacBook Air with my Magic Trackpad and can't stand playing FPS games with a mouse.

I've been making some hat packs!:D He should make that an option(sort of like creating your own map packs) so you wouldn't have to go through all of the trouble of compiling, and compiling..and compiling....
Re: So anyway, Mari0 is out...
I don't know what distro you're on, but if you're on Ubuntu you can use bartbes' PPAInny wrote:0.80 hasn't been released yet, so I can't play it on linux (without going through the hassle of compiling it myself).
Re: So anyway, Mari0 is out...
Oh yeah, I found out about that like 10 minutes after. I'll upgrade to 0.80 when I get around to it. Though I bet they'll probably get to releasing it officially before I get the urge to play that game. It's any day now, right?andmatand wrote:I don't know what distro you're on, but if you're on Ubuntu you can use bartbes' PPAInny wrote:0.80 hasn't been released yet, so I can't play it on linux (without going through the hassle of compiling it myself).

It had already been featured on GiantBomb last year.

Need to see if they can provide an update (and mention LOVE).
