I'm not sure, but it looks like an issue that was fixed some time ago. If you want the latest version, you might want to download it from http://gvx.github.com/invader, although I think you do have the latest version.
It should provide you with multiple options for how many stars it has, with how many you start and the speed (try Underdog, you start with only one and with 140 stars).

Re: Invader: arcade strategy game
HI, Robin
I have tested invader-p2.love , and find a error(bug?)
I use debian6 (squeeze) , love 0.7.2,
new game... --> fast and small , when play in about middle, a blue screen message stop the game:
Error: [string "systemview.lua"]:153: attempt to index local 'arr' (a nil value)
stack traceback:
[string "systemview.lua"]:153: in function 'update'
[string "main.lua"]4: in function 'update'
[string "boot.lua"]:1: in function <[string "boot.lua"]:1>
[C]: in function 'xpcall'
AL lib: ALc.c:1818: alcCloseDevice(): deleting 32 Buffer(s)
I test it twice, the same message.

Re: Invader: arcade strategy game
Hm, I'm sorry, I have no idea how to fix that. I haven't seen any error in Invader in a long time and honestly, I'm not really supporting it any longer. However, this version it the very latest, fresh from my hard drive. Maybe that works properly.
