Change the writing directory on Ubuntu?

Post by T-Bone »

I was just thinking about potentially selling a game on the Ubuntu Software Center one day, and according to http://developer.ubuntu.com/publish/my-apps-packages/, it seems they want the app to only write to ~/.config/, not ~/.local/.

Perhaps a future version of LÖVE (0.8?) could have adapted the write directory to make it easier to sell games on the USC? Or is there an easy way to change the write folder?

Actually, they're perfectly fine with the way it is now, since we oblige to the XDG specs. Keep in mind it's not really config you (can) store in there.

I had to look that up; here's the link for others in my situation: XDG Base Directory Specification.
When I write def I mean function.

Right, well, basically I was just bragging about our spec-compliance anyway :P.

In case you're still in doubt, there is, in fact, a love game in the USC.

Yes, I know. I assumed they changed the location somehow, but I guess they didn't. That's good.
