Breaking Up (Shattered LOVE)

Post by rude »

While you enjoy (or suffer) the title-pun, I'll inform you that this thread is really about how the forum should be split up into subcategories.
Chrishas wrote:maybe you should try breaking up the forum into different sections, if you wait until later you will probably end up wasting a lot of time sorting threads into the different sections. Plus if you keep it this way it will be hard to tell whether a subject is for support or just something general..., just a suggestion.
The reason there's only one category is that over-partitioning at an early stage (when there are too few people) may result in people not knowing where to post, or get the impression that the forum is "dead", and eventually not post at all.

Creating categories some day was always the plan, but has been on hold until the need arose.

Ok, so the need is here. Which categories do you want?

I'd think just two max for now. As Rude said, early partitioning not good.

One "General" and one "Support/Developer"

Well ... the board is now split in two. Let's wait with the "Projects" category until projects start appearing in the General section. ^^

now that the club is a wild jungle of non-overview with tigers and sharks behind every corner, would you mind installing some feed (aka Atom aka RSS) functionality?

If you have a teenee bit of experience with phpbb extensions, you should easily find and choose one, if not, I'll... well, I'll just pick a random one...

Supposing you're at all interested in providing an feed
lg.newImage("cat.png") -- made possible by lg = love.graphics

Two categories! Things will never be the same.

Would that be one feed per subforum?
