I'd also like to note that even patched versions of lua can easily break bytecode compatibility.

I haven't "peeked", but I can't figure it out. Need to read up on Towlr games I guess.

edit: patch fixed my build too. the luac didn't work for me (ubuntu 11.10 64bit)

Yeah, I figured out a game mechanic, but now I can't figure out what to do with that mechanic.
