Gwilty's Programming Assignments

Post by thelinx »

For anyone here not from Facepunch who's looking to learn a bit of Lua and LÖVE, I thought I'd make a thread about a project that Garry (Newman, GMod person guy) is doing.
So Gwilty [second person in Facepunch Studios] is learning to program. I thought I'd get him started using baby steps. If you want to learn along with him that would be cool too and feel free to use these threads to post your progress.

I'm going to set him programming challenges which eventually will lead him to be as epic as coder as me. But you've got to crawl before you can walk.
The introductory tasks seem to involve LÖVE. So, this is a good opportunity for new LÖVErs to learn a bit of programming.

Assignment #1 - Breakout without bricks
Assignment #2 - Firework simulator

The fireworks assignment looks pretty hard for a second assignment with classes and particles...
