I'd be fine with or without teams being allowed.
Earliest Love2D supporter who can't Love anymore. Let me disable pixel shaders if I don't use them, dammit!
Lenovo Thinkpad X60 Tablet, built like a tank. But not fancy enough for Love2D 0.10.0+.

I actually like the solo rule, because it forces you to do stuff you normally wouldn't. Learning new stuff and improving underdeveloped skills is always a good thing. (edit: but I'm fine with teams too)
Time wise please consider that having too much time can backfire. You will probably be able to get more stuff per hour done when having two days instead of a whole week. It also forces you to reduce the gameplay and graphics to only what is needed.
Another thing that needs to be sorted out: How to we choose a winner? Will there be a vote where everyone just picks their overall favorite? Or will there be a more sophisticated point system for gameplay, graphics, sound, etc.?

Re: LÖVE-JAM?
I think just a vote system using the forum polls would be fine, or we could choose judges?

We need to make this happen. Sounds awesome.

How about a trial run next thursday-sunday?
Re: LÖVE-JAM?
I think a distributed system where everyone votes on every project would ultimately be best. Doing things this way will allow everyone to participate and make sure nobody has to sit out because they are a judge.
Any devs/mods out there actually putting this together?
