Difficulty would be nice.
Like, limit the amount of arrows an enemy can fire at once, and the size, by the difficulty, or something like that.

Re: Invader: arcade strategy game
I liked it.
One thing I didn't like was having to keep pressing in a planet in order to send more troops. Having the mouse "captured" felt a bit too limiting.
I prefer GalCon's solution; they had a "which percentage of your troops do you send for attacking" (33%, 66%, 100%) button. Then you just clicked origin and destination, and sent troops along. That allowed for much frantic action (which you will need when the AI starts doing intelligent stuff)

When I write def I mean function.

I don't think the planets are big enough to render it time-saving having to select a percentage.
If there were different size planets, that'd, I guess, be helpfull though.

If improvements are to be made, please add WASD support. Using the arrow keys in combination with the mouse is awkward at best.

Use both. I have a Trackpad and am left-handed. Requiring WSAD and the mouse is awkward at worst. Impossible at best. Or maybe the other way around.T-Bone wrote:If improvements are to be made, please add WASD support. Using the arrow keys in combination with the mouse is awkward at best.

I'm left-handed as well. That's why I used mouse + arrow-keys. But for the first patch version, I'll add WASD. You will also be able to use the mouse for scrolling then.

Gentlemen! A new version is released, containing many changes, such as:
- Now uses desktop resolution for full screen
- Makes AI a bit smarter
- Makes AI arrows half a second longer on average
- Adds scrolling with the mouse at the window edges
- Adds WASD to control viewport
- Adds different game types
- Fixes bug where winning or losing a game, and pressing escape and starting a new game before the timer was up didn't stop the timer
- Fixes bug where selected system stays selected when taken over

Good times. Have you thought about adding "select several planets" so that you can swarm a single target? Also, what about size variety in the planets, so that there is a little more value tactics involved?
Loving the Eufloria vibe though.
