Midi problem

Post by middlerun »

I'm using a midi file for background music. It works fine in Linux, but when I try it in Windows it gives an error. Does anyone know why this would be happening? The only solution I can think of is to convert it to ogg or something, but that wastes space and doesn't sound as good.

ERROR!

Could not load music "sound/smfpiano.mid"
I tried a couple of other midi files and it's the same each time.

Maybe I screwed something up when I compiled SDL_mixer for Windows. Try downloading this and replace the old SDL_mixer. Note that you'll also need all the other DLLs.

In any case: added to task list.

I'm on linux, but it's not working either. Should I start a virtual midi player such as timidity?
Is it because I'm using OSS instead of Alsa?
