Application failed to initialize properly (0xc0150002)

Post by pixelknight »

Hey folks, new to the LOVE engine and having trouble getting it to launch.. not even the demos.

On a brand new laptop computer with propper Windows service packs 1,2,3 and most recent directX installed, I get: "Application failed to initialize properly (0xc0150002)" windows error. I've installed LOVE on two other desktop computers without this issue, but the laptop is the one I'll use to show the game.

Tried redownloading and reinstalling with no luck.

Is there a needle in the haystack windows dependancy somewhere?

Any help is appreciated.

Repro:
Install LOVE on new computer
double click the LOVE exe
get windows error "Application failed to initialize properly (0xc0150002)"

Expecting to see a blue window with rolling tank as per default demo

ATI? Because we've had reports of similar problems with old ATI drivers.

There is an ATI folder, but video uses Intel® 915GM/GMS, 910GML Express Chipset with most up to date drivers.

Alas no love yet..

The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0150002). Click on OK to terminate the application.

Have you tried the standalone in the zip? I sometimes have better luck with those than installers.

Also, I assume from the service packs that you're on windows XP, but you don't actually say.

Finally, rolling tank? Are you trying to run 0.6 or 0.7?

Yeah, here I come again with my VC++ runtimes... ;)

A part of LÖVE (OpenAL32.dll) needs the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 runtimes. Install and try again.

Hi,

Tried the standalone from the zip, no love :death:

Installed the VC++ runtime package, the error now changes to "love.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close." with buttons [Send Error Report] [Don't Send]

No love yet :3
