I know you made it so that you can't aim on purpose, but I think it would be really cool if either
1) you could aim or
2) the bullets that you shoot had very light auto aim, so that it would swerve toward your enemy a little.

The controls feel really snappy, and the game looks "just right".
It's hard to put into words, but I think you nailed the look and feel. It does not just look like some art a programmer "had" to make. It actually looks pretty appealing and consistent.
I especially like the shadows. Such a (presumably) simple detail, but it adds so much depth!
Really nice game. It would be nice if there was some cyclic shield that could be used now and again particularly when the multiple spread shots are fired. Maybe charged for a certain number of points collected and unable to be stacked or something like that.
I did get an error a couple times when mashing buttons at the beginning of a game. I attached a shot of it below.

Overall, a really well done game. I like it a lot.
