Moonring getting lots of Love
Re: Moonring getting lots of Love
Nice. Splatter cat is one of my favorite YT guys. And well done with the game. You got quite some great comments there.

Woah, I heard about this and I was like "wow, looks cool".Then you post it here and I'm like "Love2D? It's made with that?" Then I search and find this and I was even the first on to comment there
Re: Moonring getting lots of Love
I was instantly transported back to my ZX Spectrum gaming roots the moment I laid eyes on the gameplay video above. The game is clearly a labour of love and I wish you every success with it.
"...filling in the gaps left by the primitive art with my imagination." - I know exactly what you mean by this and it's something that made those games so dear to me too.

Well that’s nice. A 4/5 on Eurogamer for a Love2D game.

Hi Madrayken, congratulations for your wonderful game. While it brings back the emotions of the games of our childhood, it's more than a retro game thanks to today's technical and ergonomic contributions and, above all, your own vision of the genre. It's a bit like what I'm trying to reproduce at my (much lower) level in my own game in development.
Having said that, I wanted to point out a small problem that occurs when you play with an azerty keyboard: you can't type single quotes. To write "Serpent's eye" I had to use the Windows visual keyboard by switching to qwerty. I suggest that if the $ sign is not used in the game, you replace it with a single quote if possible (this is the sign that is rendered with an azerty keyboard when you try to type a single quote).
PS: thanks also for the various games you've contributed to that I played as a teenager and then as a young adult. In particular Druid, which left me with quite a vivid memory despite its difficulty.

It's a great game, though. So no wonder. It really shows (I think) that Love2d is a pretty powerful engine

Any reason why it isn't available for Linux?
