This is true. However native OS file dialogs can look nicer in some situations and might give more (potentially idiomatic platform-specific) features that users expect, compared to a single implementation across all platforms.
Absolutely! Is that a potential feature we can expect then? I just didn't think it was going to happen. I'd be happy to be wrong though.
It's not actively in development or planned for love 12, but maybe in the future...
