Hi folks. I'm trying to embed a link to this image http://www.denecarter.com/MoonringTitle.gif as part of a post like this:
The link is good.
The tag-format is (I believe) fine.
This site takes links to .gifs.
I'm clearly doing something wrong, but can't quite figure out what. Any thoughts? I feel I must have forgotten something really basic, and feel like an idiot.
Edit: Linking from an third-party site like Discord or Imgur works, but linking directly from my own site does not... which is odd. Possibly due to size of .gif and server-side restrictions based on number of requests?
Further Edit: changing the tag above to http: rather than https: seems to make no difference!

The embedded image uses https, while the linked one doesn't. When I open the embedded image, I get a security warning from FF, with this explanation:
This works for me:www.denecarter.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is only valid for secure67.prositehosting.co.uk

That's so weird. That is *not* working for me. I just get the little image icon.
I've changed the tag above to http, and it's still borky.

Weird, the corrected image in the OP now works fine for me. This is what I get: http://www.formauri.es/personal/pgimeno ... gTitle.gif

Interestingly, from work where i use firefox, both the op's current and pgimeno's gifs show and animate, from home where i use chrome, last i checked neither worked... i'll test that out tomorrow to see if that got fixed or not.

The browsers maybe have different security policies regarding showing http content on https pages (and settings and add-ons may affect this as well). The only "real" solution is probably to either fix the certificate or to simply use another host for the images.

Yeah, I went with the latter and hosted elsewhere: I keep a specific channel of my Discord as my 'gifs and pics' area, and link from there instead. I hatez computerz. Thanks for trying to help though, folks!
