Love2d Mac Setup

I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to set up Love2d on mac. I have it installed, but the only thing that shows in the no game page. I also don't understand how text edit and terminal help because i've copy and pasted so many things others have suggested and nothing happens. Can someone please help with more detail?

Assuming you have a main.lua file containing some code (or even just an empty main.lua file), you can drag the folder containing main.lua onto the love app to run it.
