Clockwind - A time traveling platformer

Post by alesan99 »

Back yet again with another game.
Continuing the tradition of making a new game every december (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018) !

The mechanic of this game is time travel. Make your way through 4 levels utilizing the passage of time in different ways. This may involve making trees grow or turning a car in to a flying car.

Well done!

Any specific inspiration on the time manipulation mechanic? Braid?
Character and art style reminds me a little of cool spot.

The way you did the in-between when doing the time shift on the city stage was pretty cool. Got stuck in the stage though.

Thanks!
I don't have a specific inspiration for the mechanic. The original concept was just to make a puzzle game based around time travel and over time it became a mario-like game. So the stages I made in mario maker were probably the biggest inspiration (carrying bombs, water levels, flying vehicles etc)

If you go to the future the car turns into a flying car. You can fly up by holding the up button, which is my fault for not making it more clear since up isn't used any where else in the game. Once you're up there you can turn it into a normal car and smash the rocks with enough momentum.

It seems great!
