Hello,
I've been creating this puzzle game called The Seven Rooms with Löve for a while now. While I don't consider it polished or finished, it's progressed a lot over the last months and I'd like to share its current state. It's fully playable and contains over an hour of content.
Someone on Discord once said, it's like a Sokoban on ice in space
Download it from here: https://gonsor.itch.io/the-seven-rooms
I recently added the story. Hope someone enjoys it, will update it from time to time.
The Seven Rooms
Re: The Seven Rooms
It is a really fun game. At first I thought it was too easy, but it gets really hard. The thing I like the most: The reload animation. It is gorgeous.
Level 2-7 took really long - I nearly gave up. And then I gave up at level 3-1. I know what I have to do, but it is just too frustrating. I peeked in the later levels by tweaking the save file. The new mechanic of the 3-* levels is an interesting addition to the block-pushing games i know.
The *-6 level feel strange:

The *-6 level feel strange:
- 1-6 introduces a new mechanic, but it is not used in the next level, but at later levels.
- They do not seem to fit in with the other levels.
- Their pacing seems off, because there is always a *-7 level afterwards. As a final level of a stage this would make more sense.
Re: The Seven Rooms
Wow, thanks for the indepth reply.
I want to tune the difficulty curve a bit before I finish the game. Currently, I think it has enough content, but other things are in need for an overhaul (especially some of the visuals).
The X-6 rooms are only needed for the story. I know that they are weird right now - that is their purpose. I hope that later the player can draw the connection between them and the "memory fragments".
Anyway, glad you enjoyed it.
