Re: Free game resources

Post by kikito »

I have created a wiki page:

http://love2d.org/wiki/Free_Game_Resources

I've included most of the links on this forum thread.

It would probably be nice if it could be accessed from somewhere in the wiki root (either a direct link or a link from a page linked in the root); At this moment the only way to reach it is by knowing its exact url, which isn't nice.

I propose that anyone updating this post goes and also changes the wiki.

EDIT: I also added a couple more links:
When I write def I mean function.

You can add a page to a category by putting the correct wiki code at the bottom of your page.

For instance, this is how you add to the games category. Put this at the bottom of the wiki page about your game. And fill it out of course.

Code: Select all

[[Category:Games]]
{{#set:Name=GAME TITLE}}
{{#set:Author=User:USERNAME}}
{{#set:LOVE_Version=VERSION}}
{{#set:Description=GAMEDESCRIPTION}}
{{#set:Status=Released}}
{{#set:Screenshot=File:FILENAME}}

I really must give up and avoid say anything. It really seems my words can't really corrected interpreted and don't understand how strange interpretations come always in return. I'm not telling that people can't edit a wikipage as Nevon suggested, and also for sure not saying that I don't know how to add something to Games wiki page as techocat posted. I just was sugesting and saying "KISS" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KISS_principle), to let that page simple (almost free text as in the forum) without create an unneeded hierarquical/structural entry sequence. This always keep data entries to be more simply and almost a fast copy-paste of links.

Yeah, in this case it's just a linkdump, not every link needs an article, so this suffices.

Yes, althought I didn't experienced yet (you already put all stuff there) and if don't have a elaborate "cage" seems great. As always nice job kikito and let me be the first from the community to thank you. :)

About the KISS I hope you noticed that I was only explaining and adressing to my initial words that are far previous to your wiki page creation post and that I was not saying that you didn't a KISS job right? (Just saying this to avoid another possible misinterpretation)...

I think that it should go under "Game Design", myself.

[edit] Or if not, then here's another one to go with it under "Game Mechanics" (which COULD also be a subcategory under "Game Design"):
Metanet Software's (the company that created n and n+) "Technique" site section (dedicated to game design/techniques/mechanics).
