Hey guys,
Long time lurker/Löve enthusiast, first time poster here!
I recently made a game called Typing Champ for the A Gamy By It's Cover Jam and meant to post it a while ago!
The concept is pretty simple, your goal is to type as fast as possible in order to gain stamina. Once you have enough stamina you can choose to attack or use a special ability. Rinse and repeat until either you or the enemy are defeated! In between fights you can level/switch out your special abilities (passive or active) in order to prep for the next battle!
It's relatively short and I'm hoping not too difficult for anyone to pick up and play!

Re: Typing Champ
Really cool, and I like the graphics. Seems like it could be a cool way to encourage learning/improving typing skills.

Re: Typing Champ
Annoyingly the lack of a .love file means that this can't be run on OSX Sierra (you can't perma disable app blocking and since this launches love and the game it doesn't work). Looks good though!

Re: Typing Champ
I'd love to try it, but since there's no .love or linux binary, I can't run it.
Edit: I extracted the game files from the .exe, and created a .love.
The game is pretty cool, though a bit easy. I did have a couple of issues, and I've fixed them. The first is that inputting a word had to be done with the Enter key, when the Space key is much more comfortable and intuitive. The second issue is that sometimes after attacking, words would already be red on the next sentence. Both issues are fixed in the .love I'm attaching. I also cleaned up the code block where the issues were, using nested if statements, instead of repeating the same if statements multiple times.
Other than that, my only complaint is that it's a bit easy. I was able to beat the game on expert without taking a single point of damage.
Music was fun, and I enjoyed the pixelated art style and concept.

Whoops, I totally forgot about including a .love, thanks for whipping one up! If you don't mind I'm going to add this one to the itch.io page!DanielPower wrote: ↑Thu Oct 26, 2017 5:20 pm I'd love to try it, but since there's no .love or linux binary, I can't run it.

Yeah I totally get what you mean as far as the difficulty goes, it's a bit too easy even on Expert. Balancing this felt weird and probably could have used more testing on my part, but at this point I had little to no time left. I may go back at some point and try to adjust the difficulties as well as add some small enhancements here and there.DanielPower wrote: ↑Thu Oct 26, 2017 5:20 pm Other than that, my only complaint is that it's a bit easy.
