Hello, I've fallen in löve quite recently (and programming in general) and I wanted to try something more than Arkanoid or Tetris clones.
I've found this game (make with GM) https://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=26526.0 and I wanted to know if and how could I make the same 3d as it. For the character it's just a 8 directional sprite but for the round trees i'm a bit lost.
Maybe the Mesh module ?
(escape and 9 to quit the game)
the webm show what I want with the camera rotation
Thanks.

Re: "Fake" 3d and stuff
You can use love3D (not official) or isometric graphics.

Re: "Fake" 3d and stuff
Isn't Love3d just a library ?
I'll try to see what I can do with it anyway, hank's for the tip

LOVE3D is a library that can render real 3D models..
For fake 3D have a look at this thread: https://love2d.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=83059
Basically you have some 2D layers which then get drawn on top of each other to get the effect.

Adding to this, the great people at Windmill Games have used the library, or a similar method, to make a game.MadByte wrote: ↑Wed Aug 09, 2017 7:48 am For fake 3D have a look at this thread: https://love2d.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=83059

A warning - animating these 3D objects is a real pain because it's basically like animating sprites - frame by frame.
PM me on here or elsewhere if you'd like to discuss porting your game to Nintendo Switch via mazette!
