This isn't Lua/LOVE specific but I thought it could help some people out. I found a really good article on Vector Fundamentals.
If this isn't the place for this, by all means let me know - it just seemed as if the Wiki was very LOVE-centric and, reading many of the posts on these forums, I think some generic, back-to-basics, tutorials/articles could be helpful as well.
