I need to ask a quick question.
I'm planning on making a CRPG in the style of Wasteland 1. Of course I'll improve all the aged mechanics I can, but I'm debating as to which engine I should use for this. I've never used GameMaker before, but from what I've seen of it it looks good. I have used LÖVE before and know Lua fairly well. I'm also more comfortable with LÖVE than GameMaker. But I'm still unsure as to which one is better for my project. Does anyone here in the forums have an Idea of which one is better for this style of game? I'm willing to learn whatever is necessary to use either game engine.
I'll dump some pictures from Wasteland 1 that I have to give an idea of what the game looks like. It's got a very simple GUI and vector graphics due to its age, but would it be better to attempt this project in GameMaker or LÖVE?
LÖVE or GameMaker for this?

Re: LÖVE or GameMaker for this?
Neither LÖVE nor GameMaker are task-specific, and neither have any facilities to aid with RPG elements and whatnot. However, compared to GML, Lua is immensely more powerful and that alone should be all the reason for you to use LÖVE. Features-wise they're nearly identical and you will not be missing anything except a rather shitty built-in IDE and ability to export to Sony and Microsoft consoles right out of the box.

Love maybe a little overkill compared to go but if you're already comfortable with Love just go with it.
