Color Breaker - 72hr Breakout Jam
Color Breaker - 72hr Breakout Jam
Hello! Last weekend, Ikroth and I participated in a 72hr Breakout Jam hosted by GDL. The goal was to take the simple concept of breakout and make it as interesting as possible, by "juicing" it. Here is the result.
Color Breaker
The goal is to break all of the blocks. However, you can only destroy one color of block in a certain interval. Every so often, the color you are able to hit will change. It's a simple mechanic that keeps it interesting.
The game can be played on the web here, ported using love.js
The .love file can also be downloaded from here, if necessary.

The game is pretty well, but I'm missing a bit of challenge.

I kinda feel like the ball itself could have changed colors to indicate which block color it can break, but apart from that, neat game!

I tried to play on browser but it couldn't detect the input..
I downloaded the .love file, but the height of the window is too big, I couldn't see myself xD
Can you put some key to scale the window?

Really nice and juicy!
I like how the ball doesn't get lost
It get's very fast at the end though. If I could loose the ball, I'd have no chance to win this...

It's not a bad game, but you can't die (which at the moment is fair since the ball gets too fast to hit near the end) and also when you break all the blocks nothing happens; it left me slightly disappointed. The gameplay is really fun and I love the graphics!

I have one idea, how about if the ball direction or overall position of the blocks could be changed by tilting or shaking the board, that would add more controllability and an extra challenge I think. The game looks really good!
