A platformer I've been working on the past day. Art probably going to be switched around a bit, the idea is the game will be hard but it'll look all cutesy.
You play as a boy with 2 legs and 3 balloons, use this to navigate through a few, hopefully, difficult levels.
Controls
Run left/right: left/right or a/d
Jump: z
Balloons: x, this makes you fall slower and be pushed around by fans.
Shoot: c, no reason to ever press this.
Space/r: Retry

If you'd be so kind as to give me feedback please answer some of these:
Did you complete it/How far did you get?
Would you like more easy levels or more hard levels?
Too easy/too hard?
Like/hate the graphics style/idea?
Thanks.

This is what I get
Are you using an older version of LOVE? The current version is 0.10.0
Re: Balloon Boy, happy little platformer
I like it!
The mechanic is fun and the art style is awesome, but the spikes/fences can be mistaken for platforms (I mistook them for platforms)
It also isn't too hard, but it isn't too easy either. Good game
It took me a lot of tries to get through this area here. You should add a checkpoint once you get down.

Updated:
Added goal were suggested
Basic title screen
Fourth level
Various graphics added/changed
Maximising window no longer looks trash
Confetti and balloons
Fade when camera moves
Maybe some other stuff
Still need some sfx, some more decent levels and various graphical improvements.

This is much much more better! I preferred the old clouds over these new rainbow ones, but that's more down to personal preference. For sfx I recommend you use http://www.bfxr.net/
Also one of the fonts you could use is this: http://www.dafont.com/bonni-africa.font
Just a suggestion. Try it out.

Re: Balloon Boy, happy little platformer
I made the rainbows so I had some platforms to contrast against this type of wall
I though about using as3sfxr for some cheap quick sound effects but always found them to sound a bit irritating, bfxr seems to fix that so I've added a few sfxs and it sounds quite nice. They'll be in the next update.
As for the font, it looks just like the one I made except much better, however I'm probably going to use a different style.
Thanks again!
I'll probably be using both, but at the moment I think the grass is a little better made so I used that.

Re: Balloon Boy, happy little platformer
This would be 1042% better with sound effects. I'm talking dogs barking, explosions, some bleep-bloop in some kind of musical arrangement... anyways, on with the program.
In this post, I'm going to pretend to be an upset player who is upset because of how upsetting he thinks the game is.

Re: Balloon Boy, happy little platformer
Thanks for the video,I'm sure you can get further than that!
Updates:
Sounds effects, some could still do with some tweaking
Music, royalty free by Kevin Macleod
New mechanic, opening and closing platforms
Re-made level editor, now it's much easier to add new stuff to the editor
Level 5, using the new mechanic. You can skip to this from the menu.
Improved background image, better sun next time.
Change of font, pretty hard to read, needs changing.

Nice! If you're into fiddling with sounds at all, I recommend LabChirp.

The most frustrating thing for me is that changing directions changes your hitbox (the center point is unfairly non-centered) but there's nothing wrong with doing that on purpose.
