Introducing myself.

Post by Telecorpse »

Hi everyone!
I'm a 15 year old who lives in Poland.
I am interested in variety of stuff ranging from programming and engineering to pharmaceutics and a bit of philosophy.

I got into programming when I was 11 mainly because of IT lessons. The program for IT in my country is really miserable, so the teacher didn't really give a damn when we were minding our own stuff. Me and my mate created all sorts of programs like a variety of fork bombs, calculators for simple maths, Fibonacci sequence or factorial. We also used a LAN folder to create a simple text chat or a program that could run in the background and spoof other computers remotely by shutting them down or displaying a porn site or a screamer.
From that to 2015 I've been sparsely programming some stuff in batch, c++ and later Lua.

I found Love2d earlier this year by the same mate I was wreaking havoc on IT with.
It find it awesome because of simplicity of Lua language, various useful functions, ease of running the program and debugging.

I'm currently loosely working on many different projects while learning new stuff about the language and the API, which include:
- A strategy game based on attrition and cutting enemy supply lines
- An engine for a rougelike
- A complicated trading/economy game
- A bullet hell game

In summer holidays I'm usually awake from 1-3pm to 6-9pm. In the daytime I usually stay outside till the night and hang out with my friends.
At night I use my computer for playing games ranging from FPS to grand strategy, listening to the music, reading, watching YouTube and of course programming and learning to program.
During that time I ingest anywhere from 100 to 200mg of caffeine in form of hot beverages like tea or coffee.
I enjoy things that are weird, complicated, humorous and kinda crude or morbid.
As you see I also like to write a lot.

Here's some notable stuff I've built in Terraria, that you may find interesting:
- A multiplication array that uses shifting

- A 4-bit register with MOV function

Welcome to the forums!

It's like seeing myself 3 years ago :3 (also welcome to the bullet hell club; population: about 4-5)

It's good to see ambition in people, and even though i don't personally know what you can accomplish, i do know from my own experience that working on many things in paralell is usually less productive than focusing on one.
That said, i hope you'll finish everything you set out to create!
Me and my stuff :3True Neutral Aspirant. Why, yes, i do indeed enjoy sarcastically correcting others when they make the most blatant of spelling mistakes. No bullying or trolling the innocent tho.
