If you're on a mobile device, scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click on the second line of text that says something like "disable mobile php"
Click that, an you have all the normal functionalities, including editing posts, etc, etc :)

Yeah, I barely visited the forums from my phone before finding that button. The mobile version is horrible.

I agree. It's really bad. And it looks like iOS circa 1.0 which is really ugly now.

I suggest the devs who made it look at NeoGAF. They have the absolute best mobile forum design you can get. You can do almost anything from it that you can on the desktop site. Plus it looks so nice and unique and modern. And it has a dark mode.

newer phpBB versions have waay better mobile sites. I use the newest version on my website:

It also depends on the skin you use I guess.

Not that easy to update PHPBB especially when you have custom mods installed.
It's not impossible - just a lot of work.
