Procedurally Generated Space RPG (WIP)

Post by Dreanh »

The game is a top down space shooter/exploration/trading/rpg type of game. It doesn't have a name yet so if you got some suggestions please let me know.
I have been working on this game for some months it's far from finished, but it now functions as a game so I thought I'd share this early version with you guys. There are still a lot of things I would like to implement like quests, crafting, weapons & ships. The game uses a lot of memory as it is now and needs a lot of work.

Controls:
ESC - Menu
WASD - Move
Mouse - Aim
LMB - Shoot
RMB - Open planet window when clicking on planet.
M - Map
TAB - Set/remove waypoint
SPACE - Boost
I - Inventory
F1 - Fullscreen/windowed

Nice but soo empty. I long to upgrade my ship's weapons.

I didn't notice an effect when pressing space (boost).

Wish it had sounds too.
lg.newImage("cat.png") -- made possible by lg = love.graphics
-- Don't force fullscreen (it frustrates those who want to try your game real quick) -- Develop for 1280x720 (so people can make HD videos)

You need to hold space to boost you can see your speed stat getting higher. There isn't much boost at the start though you need to upgrade. You can upgrade so you fire 3 bullets, I will add weapons later which can be mounted on the ships. Also need to do something about the emptiness. When you reach a higher level there are more AI ships at least. Sounds will be one of the next things i'm implementing.
