W.A.G.N.E.R

Hi, folks! :awesome:

For this year's Game Jolt Textureless Jam we, at Midipixel Games, developed W.A.G.N.E.R, a minimalist Snake/Pac-man hybrid game powered by LÖVE 0.9! The game was roughly done in four days, but we are happy with the results. We are currently hosting it here. To play, use the Arrow or WASD keys to control the little dude around. Use the Tab key to change the game's skin, and press the Escape key to quit.

We would löve to share the game with you guys, and hear what you think. Download the .love file directly from here.

Very good, although once you get to 45-50 movement starts to get ahead of the camera and it becomes difficult to react.

I really really like how I hate the game but how this hate develops slowly after me liking it at first. :awesome:

Your music? Nice!

-- Don't force fullscreen (it frustrates those who want to try your game real quick) -- Develop for 1280x720 (so people can make HD videos)

davisdude, thanks for the compliment! We made the camera slower than the character in order to convey a sense of speed, but I guess we overdid it, huh? But that's easy to fix! We'll take a look at it!

qubodup, THANK YOU for the kind words and the youtube video! We will definitely share it with our friends! :awesome:

The soundtrack is Werther Azevedo's, the other half of Midipixel Games. You can hear more of his work at his soundclound page.

Don't get me wrong- I liked the camera delay, I just think it would be better to cap the offset so that it doesn't make it even more difficult after a certain point.

Oh. OK! I guess right now what's happening is that we have a constant camera speed and an increasing "character" speed. I'll definitely look into that.

I'm currently trying to port this game using the LÖVE Android project. Having some trouble with the touch controllers, though. :?
