Don't let fear prevent you from asking questions, otherwise that fear will soon become justified.
I agree, but I didn't believe this was an honest question.
It's not about programming, it's just that some minorities feel uncomfortable in some tech communities, so they're founding their own.
I am not opposed to any group starting their own little private club but I think this one will suffer from a lack potential members.
The last time we had a poll here only one poster identified as "female". Females are rare in the programming world in general and the Lua community is tiny.
So Etiene, you should not be disappointed if this never gets anywhere.

We have a particular need for someone that has already some experience with LÖVE to show some guidance to newcomers. I'll give preference to women, although I accept mentors of both genders. So, if you are near me and you would like to help, please contact me!
The LÖVE community is relatively small, but a large portion of the active forum members live in Europe. Other Lua sub-communities (the Lua mailing list, the /r/Lua subreddit, etc.) have more participants with experience with LÖVE as well, if you need more places to reach out to. The Lua mailing list in particular is where I see the most Lua-specific meetups posted.
