Coronium Game Server - Free Lua multiplayer framework

Post by develephant »

Hi All,

My name is Chris Byerley and I wanted to introduce myself to the community and share a Lua project I've created that allows you to easily network real-time multiplayer games. The framework is called Coronium GS (Coronium Game Server) and is free to use, runs on Amazon EC2, DigitalOcean, or any Ubuntu 14.04 install. It's currently in an alpha state, and I'm looking for testers and people to provide feedback.

There is a LÖVE client available for the project, and I've put together a screencast introducing its usage:

To find out more about Coronium GS, please visit http://coronium.gs. The LÖVE client can be found in the development bundle download on the site.

Thanks in advance for any testing help and feedback, it's very appreciated. If you have any questions, let me know.

Cheers,
Chris B

Looks very promising. I'll look through some of those videos and documentation definitively.

PS: best development name ever. develephant/10

Hi,

All the files have been updated for the LÖVE framework. I didn't get too much response from the community so it was not kept current. There have been lots of changes since my first post, so the video above is out of date in some areas. The best way to learn and use the GS platform is by visiting the help site and docs.

Download: https://bitbucket.org/develephant/coron ... efault.zip

Help: http://forums.coronium.io/categories/coronium-gs

Getting started docs for client and server are good starting places.

You can learn how to get your own free instance at http://coronium.gs

I'll be more than happy to answer questions and help developers get up and running. There is a slight learning curve, but it's pretty well documented and being used in a number of projects.

Cheers.

Thanks for an update! I missed the thread :-/.

It looks definitely interesting! I look into it and give it a try. In future I need an highscore/update/patch server.

You should get more response to this great project :)!

Ah nice!
It's built on Luvit, I've heard great things about it.
Keep it up!
