Android/ios app and appstores

Post by Muris »

Hello!

I just bought myself an android phone, and decided to try if libgdx works for android and how easy it is to use for actually porting an android version. I later on noticed that löve2d also has android port, and for fun I tested something small with it, and noticed that atleast the out of box version where the game is inside lovegame/ -folder seems to work without any modification.

Now I was thinking if it is actually possible to put android games made with löve2d into google play? What about IOS (not that I really need, but would be nice to know) games into apple store? Any ideas about licensing and commercialing?

Personally I would use libgdx, mostly since I do like java and c# as languages and tools (type checking, spell checking, null variables and debugging ), but due to the need of jre, it just seems bad for windows game development. What i am planning now is more of windows/android game.

There are already some games on the google play store made with love, here are some:

Fragerfight
Crystal Crash
Luminosity
Kopter
Egg Battle
Ortho Robot

Although I haven't seen a game on the IOS yet.
