Hi!
I wrote a libcurl binding and simple HTTPS request wrapper and threw it up on GitHub. It might be of use to anyone who'd like to have proper HTTPS from within LOVE:

It relies on libcurl binaries, which you can get easily either from your package manager (Linux), the libcurl website (any platform), or the GitHub releases for the project (Windows, Mac OS X coming soon).
