No Game Pigg, Love Hotel

Post by Mog »

Hello, my first post to this fantastic forum

I initially heard love through the language through the game "Love Hotel" I attempted to download the game (which went swimmingly) yet when I tried to run it, i was greeted with the no game pig we all so dread. I have been using the mac version, and i have yet to test it in linux.

It should not be the "rubber piggy" anymore, that would indicate that you are running Löve 0.8. You should instead see the "baby inspector", and its version is 0.9.1 (0r 0.9.0).

Here are a few things that can cause that issue:
  • You lack a main.lua
  • You made a .rar or such, instead of a .zip
  • You made a zip out of the folder that your files are in, instead of the root of the game. In other words, zip the files, not the folder.

If the game is using LÖVE 0.8.0, you can probably get it working by running the .love with an updated version of 0.8.0 (downloadable from here) - older versions of 0.8.0 are broken on Mac OS 10.9 and newer.
