Sorry if I've put this in the wrong area, but it seems to me this has nothing to do with Love2D at all (apart from the bit where it is needed for game development -.-) So, has anyone got any top-down running sprites, i need it becuase A) Im crap at art, and B) I don't even know where the hell to start with a running animation Thanks,

I cant think of any 100% top-down games, where a person is animated. Most are at some sort of angle. Anyway, here is Back to the Future for the NES:

They are at an angle, however it shouldnt be too hard to translate the movements in each frame to a pure top-down view. Basically one legs goes forward, while the opposite arm goes back. It depends on how realistic vs symbolic you want it to look. It could be as simple as a pixel changing position from front to back to suggest the arm and leg movement. Or if you want it to be more realistic you will need to show shoulder and elbow movement, etc.
