Thinking of coming back !

Post by Murii »

Hey guys!

I dont think you remember me at all because i`ve been inactive for a long time. But that is not the main problem.Right now i`m using Libgdx but I want to come back to Love because i think it`s better, faster to use and cooler. But I have a couple of question before i do that.1)What version of OpenGL/OpenGL Es does Love use? 2)Is the android port stable enought to make a simple game like Flappy Bird? 3)Like in Libgdx i`ve made a lib which handles collision detection with slopes and aabb, map making and an entity class,do you think is wroth makeing something simillar and make it public so that everyone can use it,if they want to?
4)Is here someone that would like to make art for free(please dont be mad at me)?

Thx ! :ultrahappy:

P.S: I really like the fact that now I know a lot more about game dev and I can be very useful for the community !

I would say so, there are a few examples of nice games that have been ported to android and there are very few issues.

There are a few similar libraries, but if you make something good people will use it.

I doubt you will find a quality artist for free with nothing to show for. You need to have something to show for so that people know that they wont waste time on a project that never gets finished. It is also hard to find a good artist who is going to work for free, you might be able to find some new artists who are looking for exposure, then you can offer a cut of the earnings that the game will make.

Sounds good, I am not an artist but have experience with getting people to join a team and the main thing is that no one likes an "idea guy" with nothing to show for. Just wanted to give a heads up on the fact that people want to see things, not hear about them :)

On desktop, LÖVE uses OpenGL 1.3 - 3.0 depending on the features used (Shaders use OpenGL 2.1, for example.) The Android and iOS ports use OpenGL ES 2.

It should be, yeah.
