Cave Story's soundtrack is made in a program called OrgMaker. You can find more info here: http://www.cavestory.org/download/music.php

A side note: Hat Cat's soundtrack is also made in OrgMaker

sunvox is brilliant. i have all versions for touch devices and desktop. best of all desktop is free. touch device version is totally worth it, but more if you have a tablet, its hard to see on phones

you should also look at the other applications mr. zolotov has made. some of my favourite applications for desktop and touch devices. worth the money spent
