no rendering / no graphics / black screen

Hi,
Using ubuntu 12.04 on virtualbox.
When I run love with or without arguments it doesnt render the graphics. it goes fullscreen, it plays audio.
for me the most bizarre is that the "baby inspector" image doesnt appear. it is not my code fault.

Have anyone seen this black screen error?

PS:

I recently installed a diferent sdl from apt and it overwrote the old one.
My C/SDL programs work fine.
I use to have the glx error, that sdl that love was calling didnt recognized x11, I installed the sdl from outside the repository and it worked, but it didnt worked with my sdl programs.

Do you have 3d acceleration set up? OpenGL might not work in a vm.

Hi, there is a native Love2D engine on Linux, you just need to install required dependencies like libsdl.
