Magik

Post by CaptainMaelstrom »

I've been working on a little project for a good friend of mine:

Magik: The Deck Editor

I presume I'm breaking all kinds of laws and if Wizards of the Coast catch wind of this, they'll burn me at the stake. But oh well.

It's ugly as hell anyways. It is (relatively) stable though. Feel free to try it out, let me know if you have any suggestions. Really let me know if you find any bugs.

Things I already want to implement:
Options screen
Sound
Subtle animations
Play area backgrounds

Instruction notes:
Right click a card in the play area to inspect it more closely.
Left click or mousewheel up while hovering over the life circle to increase life, right-click or mouse-wheel down to decrease it.
You can change the love.load() function to run it in a different resolution/scale/fullscreen or whatever, but the deck editor isn't based on percentages yet.

Enjoy!

I can't delete characters from text boxes, which limits the deck to 1 card per use of the menu. I'd love to try this out properly but a deck of 60 O-Rings is never gonna work ;)
Do you recognise when the world won't stop for you? Or when the days don't care what you've got to do? When the weight's too tough to lift up, what do you? Don't let them choose for you, that's on you.

Okay, so the text boxes should detect key constants as well as unicode for everything except lower case letters. If anybody has trouble typing the letters, I'll fix that, too. Thanks LaFolie.

You should check out cockatrice, you can build decks and play them against people online.
