It's possible to extract the code from a file. LOVE?

Yes, just rename it to a .zip extension, and you can open it with your favorite archiving tool and see the .lua files in it.

You actually don't have to rename, because file extensions have nothing to do with their actual contents - it's a part of their names and could be anything (might as well absent completely). Just feed the .love file to the archive manager and it'll open it. Also, due to how zip format works, you can also feed it fused binaries and it'll open them, too.
