Just how general is the general section?

Post by Eamonn »

Seriously! Just how general is this section of the forum? From the description is seems like you can just ask general questions that have no real relevance to LÖVE or Lua(Though you can :) ).

I've seen a LOT of threads on here, some relevant and some completely random! Obviously you couldn't post crap e.g. 'I just had the worst day ever', and so on.

This is a general question and I think it fits into the general section. I asked a general question in the general section asking how general the general section is. Yeah. :)

I would assume this subforum is for topics that don't fall under projects and demos or support and development, in which case, yeah it's a bit of a mixed bag.
Obviously don't discuss porn, illegal business, warez, or any blatant nonsense within this, but hey.

I'd say this subforum is...

Pretty general.

There's a thing called the preview button.
It's right next to submit, by the way.

This is how you do it.

Actually, it's obvious if you think about it, or look at the HTML source of the forum page:

Code: Select all

<iframe class="youtube-player" frameborder="0" width="640" height="385" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/7uW47jWLMiY" type="text/html"> … </iframe>
You try to give a URL to the regular YouTube view page, but an embedded YouTube video is on a different URL all together. So, both to make it easier for you and make sure you can't mess it up, you have to only provide the video ID to the [youtube] BBCode tag.
