Umm...C# doesn't lack cross-platform abilities (though, in case you skipped over it, I did note portability as a plus for Java before), its syntax ISN'T a mess like Java's (instead being very clean and nice to work with, at least imo), and CLR is much faster than JRE/JVM (at least when it comes to heavier things; some have found that JVM is faster with lightweight programs, though that's debatable/not consistent), not to mention that CLR's features far outweigh JVM's. And, again, C# as a language isn't a huge pain to work with like Java. Though Java does have more good IDEs to choose from, so that's a plus. Again though, to each their own. If you prefer working with Java, then go for it. I personally greatly prefer working with C# over Java.raidho36 wrote:I know UDK is way more expensive than Unity, and I said it's not about the money. What are you talking about, they're both inefficient mess and painfully slow, and on top of that C# lacks cross-platform abilities. Not sure why you would prefer the inefficient mess that is Java and its painfully slow VM though, except for its portability.
I was talking about embedding your lua script to web page and expect every decent browser to run it. Emulating %whatever% through JS is not a solution: I don't want %whatever% syntax, I want %whatever% itself.you can even use Lua for web scripting
As far as Lua...have you ever even looked into using Lua on the web? Because, going by your "emulation" comments, it really doesn't seem like it.

£100 OMG APPLE ARE GREEDY THEY ARENT EVEN PAYING THEIR TAXES IN EUROPE!Eamonn wrote:The title might be kind of vague, but I'll explain! I own a Mac, so I can develop iOS apps. Though I like LÖVE's extreme simplicity! Is there a library like LÖVE for iOS? I am aware of Cocos2d, but is it as good as LÖVE? I know Cocos2d-x has a Lua version, but I think it's buggy and unfinished and undocumented. So if anyone has any experience with Cocos2d for iPhone, please let me know if it's as simplistic as LÖVE.
Yes, I'm aware that it's £100 a year to submit an app to the App store(s), but I'd like to get started with App development and I do have £100 to try the developer thing for a year. I just wanna get my hands dirty in Obj-C development for OSX and iOS development!! I'm not gonna just learn Lua+LÖVE, I wanna "broden my horizons" so to speak.
Thanks! Any replies are appreciated!!
