Re: Metanet Hunter (Pre-Release Complete!)

At first I thought the physics were kind of floaty, but you did a good job of designing levels around the physics to make them fun! My main complaint about the game is that it lacks energy or life or something. There isn't a whole lot going on. I think some music would go a long way towards fixing that, but you could also use some stuff going on in the background. More movement would be nice.

If you're interested, I make music (actually, I'm primarily a musician). I've worked in authentic chip formats before. I'm pretty busy these days but depending on how much you need and how soon I might be down. PM me if you like.

I just meant that the dithering makes them a wee tiny bit out of place from the rest of the style, which is much more flat.

No time like the present to start practicing! Start simple: try making the shooter blink or twitch for one frame when he shoots, or make the tentacles on the squid/mine things contract for a frame when they change direction. You do already have a few in there which work well.
NightKawata wrote:ALso, what do you mean by a level gate icon? That much confused me, and I think you're refering to the battery icon.
Ha, yeah, that's what I meant. Like I said, alien symbols! I kinda like not being able to tell what some things exactly are. Even the player icon has an odd shape.

There's a link in my signature to donate if you're seriously drug induced enough to do that. (Remember you don't have to, but it greatly assists for future projects.)
