Anyone else planning to participate in the GMTK Game Jam 2019?
Re: Love jam
Just to chime in here, I would be very much in favor of a July or August jam.

Re: Performance - what are your standards?
I'll test each of the platforms eventually, but the frequency is determined by convenience. In my case, Linux is my default development environment, and then Mac gets periodic checks, and then Windows gets checked for each major milestone. In general this kind of testing is pragmatic enough. In term...

There's also an excellent library that might be exactly what you want called gamestate, in the hump libraries.

Re: Methods for accurately detecting collisions in a platformer?
Something that has worked for me in the past is the concept of the "white cane" sensor objects. Basically, you can position sensors around your player and use them to tell "am I adjacent to something," much like how a person with limited or no vision can use a cane to feel the sp...

Re: LÖVE Jam 2019
Might be worth mentioning explicitly which version of love we're expected to use... not all the libraries and such out there have made the jump to version 11. (For example, I just made a PR to the splashes lib you link to, which hasn't been updated in a couple years.)

They See Us
https://tentus.itch.io/they-see-us So, I made this rudimentary roguelike for last year's love jam, and totally forgot to make a thread for it. After the jam I came back and made a bunch of fixes and additions, including coming back earlier today and making a version compatible with Love 11. If anyon...

Re: What gives with character support in L2D? [SOLVED]
I suspect part of the reason there is not a fallback system is that the dev team doesn't want to open the support floodgates with this. Not to put words in their mouths, of course, but I certainly wouldn't want to deal with constant questions about "my text looks fine on this windows but my fri...

Re: Change default font?
Is there no way to select a font using the functions for custom fonts? Even selecting a font by name that is already in the system? Seems weird not to have it. If you can't choose then what in fact is the font normally used by default? As far as I can see it's Vera: https://bitbucket.org/rude/love/...
