Re: Mac version of my game for a Windows user

I'm considering ditching the DMG and just distributing love.app in a standard zip file, to avoid this sort of confusion in the future. And make it easier on people without a Mac to make a Mac version, since other than opening the DMG, almost everything is doable without a Mac. (The one exception I ...

Re: Distributing your games (making a .love file)

Thanks for the help. I think the problem was that although I was mounting the dmg, the love.app file/folder was showing up as just "love" on my friends' Macs. I assume that's cause normally Macs automatically disable showing file extensions? I know Windows does that usually.

Re: Mac version of my game for a Windows user

Oh... And if I want a Linux version of the game, I guess I'll need a Linux system to set it up too?

Re: Mac version of my game for a Windows user

Thanks so much for the advice. I think it does help me. Although I won't be able to check until I get to go over to a friend's place and borrow their Mac. Kind of frustrating that I can't do it myself somehow on Windows. But I guess it kind of makes sense that you can't. Unless there was a downloada...

Re: Distributing your games (making a .love file)

I believe that if you can open DMGs, it is quite simple, since .APPs are just file folders. What do you mean "if"? Is this something that needs to be set in user preferences or something? On my friends' Macs I wasn't able to see any "love.app" file from the LOVE dmg file, even w...

Mac version of my game for a Windows user

I started this topic over on the game distribution thread... http://love2d.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=451&start=80 See below for the first post... I guess I want to find out how to create a Mac version of the game without having to pester my friends for use of their Macs. Failing that, I...

Re: Distributing your games (making a .love file)

First I must ask, why create binaries? Well... the game I'm making is called "Fashion Police" and it's intended for people who know very little about their own computers. So I really want to be able to set it up so they can just download one thing from me, rather than having to download L...

Re: Distributing your games (making a .love file)

I'm a Windows user and I've been able to package up my game very well for Windows systems. But I want to create a Mac version as well (and Linux if it's not too much trouble) . So I've attempted going around to friends houses to use their Macs to create a distributable version, but haven't had much ...
